Tynan Wood



Tynan Wood is currently in his 3rd year at New Zealand School of Dance studying a Certificate in Dance Performance, directed by Garry Trinder. From 2000-2011, Tynan received training from Port Stephens school,  Studio 2324, under the guidance of Jeffery McCormack (former dancer with Vienna State Opera).

Throughout his training, Tynan has worked with guest teachers Parish Maynard, Martin James, Pablo Aharonian, Isabel Yuan and Mats Skoog. He has performed repertoire by Paris Maynard (Fractals) and Jeffery Tan (Façade).

In 2013, Tynan was awarded the title of Supreme Winner for the Alana Haines Australasian Awards. During this year he was also a representative for the New Zealand School of Dance at the Assemblée Internationale.

Tynan joined Sydney Dance Company in January 2014 as a secondee for the Sydney season of Interplay, showing from 15 March to 5 April at Sydney Theatre.
