Lisa Wilson

Lisa Wilson has a twenty year international career working as director, choreographer, performer and educator. In 2011 Lisa was awarded the Hephzibah Tintner Choreographic Fellowship, enabling her to work with the Australian Ballet, Sydney Dance Company and Opera Australia. Lisa’s choreographic credits include: Elbow Room (Brisbane Powerhouse), The Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet Company, Dance North, Expressions Dance Company, The Place Theatre ‘Resolution!’ (UK), Rambert Dance Company’s Education Department with the English National Trust (UK), QUT’s Dance and Drama departments, Ausdance Queensland’s Belltower ll series and the 2008 World Dance Alliance.

2012 will see Lisa premiere her new full length independent work Lake at The Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Art, create for Expressions Dance Company, Queensland Ballet’s Professional Year, and for Queensland Theatre Company’s Bombshells and Romeo and Juliet. Lisa will also work on a creative development with Opera Queensland’s Young Artists program and has recently been awarded a Fresh Ground residency to begin a new intermedia dance theatre work. Lisa has just returned from creating a work for Sydney Dance Company, which will premiere at Spring Dance at the Sydney Opera House in September.

Lisa’s diverse performance career has seen her work with renowned choreographers and companies throughout Australia and the United Kingdom including: Dance North under the directorship of Cheryl Stock with works by; Leigh Warren, Sue Healey, Sandra Parker, Graeme Watson, Karen Pearlman and Richard Allen, Csaba Buday, Jane Pirani and Cheryl Stock, Expressions Dance Company under the directorship of Maggi Sietsma including works by Natalie Weir. UK based- Bunty Matthias & Dancers, Emily Burns, David Massingham Dance, Jeremy James, and Rambert Dance Company. Lisa has performed in festivals and theatres in Japan, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, Austria, Switzerland, Singapore, China, Germany, Mexico, New Caledonia and the U.S.A.
